HILBERT – A massive response from a half dozen fire departments made quick work of a house fire reported just after midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Flames were showing when the Hilbert Fire Department was dispatched to the two-story frame home at 712 W. Main Street. Everyone was able to get out of the house, according to the first dispatch by the Calumet County Sheriff’s 911 Center.
Deputies blocked off a portion of Main Street and Seventh Street.
The fire, on the second floor, was quickly knocked down. Several fire departments responded under mutual aid, including Brillion, Potter, Harrison, Chilton, New Holstein and Stockbridge.
