BRILLION – Lindsay Shimek has never operated her own business. You wouldn’t know it by walking into her new KOR nutrition club. The former Hopscotch location at 205 S. Main Street in Brillion has been transformed into a nutrition club that will serve nutritional shakes and teas, among other products.
“It kind of bounced in my brain for a little while,” Shimek said. “We were looking for somewhere that had the industry and the people and the community that would support something like this.”
Shimek says she knew as soon as she walked through the doors that the building was the right place to set up shop. “We can do something really cool in here,” Shimek recalled thinking.
The building is vibrant with bright colors, new flooring and a tot spot for mothers to leave their kids. The energetic atmosphere is all by Shimek’s design.
“We’re just here, we’re having fun. You’re going to come in and there’s going to be music playing and it’s going to be a louder environment,” Shimek said. “It’s not like the cozy, quiet café that you’re going to sit down and read a book in … This is where you come and start your day or when you need to get away from work.”
Shimek also wanted the club to have a local feel. Bullseye Screen Printing has handled her t-shirts, Superior Floorcovering laid the floors and Takeseven helped build shelves and wood paneling. Her dad, who works in construction in Manitowoc, has also been one of her greatest helps. “We tried to keep everything local as much as we could,” she said.
The grand opening is set for Monday, August 7, from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Regular business hours will be Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
