BRILLION – Integrated Public Resources LLC (IPR), a McMahon company, had representatives on-hand to answer questions about a new city hall to Brillion City Council and Brillion citizens at a special council meeting on Monday night. IPR is the planned financer of the new city hall building.
The upcoming timeline will include the finalization of the design and bids from contractors. From there, a final cost will be determined. That cost, including interest, will gointo what the monthly lease payment will cost the city for the building.
McMahon Architectural Designer Steve Knuth presented renderings similar to what had been presented publicly in November.
“We wanted a memorable building that conveys prosperity and we wanted to show civic pride,” Knuth said.
The design of the building on the rendering is golden brick on the outside, which Knuth says was chosen to help fit in with the rest of the city. The interior shows one side for the public and another for offices and conference areas. The new building will be on Main Street and Jackson Street right next to Dollar General and the proposed new apartment building.
The Jackson Street side of the building will also provide space for a variety of events, most specifically the Brillion Farmer’s Market. Other aesthetics, like a clock tower and pavilion, are also being discussed.
The new city hall building will have 21 surface park spaces. The proposed apartment building, which the city hopes to have done at the same time as the city hall, will have 24 underground park spaces and 36 surface park spaces. Dollar General, which will remain in its current location for at least the next few years, will have 24 surface park spaces. The areas of the parking lot will likely be separated by walkways.
Bob Endries, who attended the open forum with his wife, Pat, said he hopes that the construction stays as local as possible, including the final furnishings.
