The following press release was issued to The Brillion News from the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department.
On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a two-vehicle head on crash on CTH KK near State Park Road, on the Calumet/Outagamie County line.
When officers arrived they found the crash occurred on CTH KK approximately a tenth of a mile west of State Park Road. The crash investigation showed a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle head on.
The vehicle travelling westbound was being driven by a 28-year old woman believed to be from De Pere. She was flown to Theda Clark Hospital by Theda Star helicopter with life-threatening injuries. The vehicle travelling eastbound was being driven by a 22-year old woman from the Reedsville area. The Reedsville woman also had a female passenger from the Reedsville area, also 22 years of age. Both were transported via ambulance to Theda Clark Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The Calumet County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Town of Buchanan’s Fire Department and First Responders.
