BRILLION—Thanks to the hard work of Jon Schultz of Brillion, solemn reminders of three lost heroes will now tower gracefully above the Calumet County Courthouse.

Schultz, a 17-year-old student at Brillion High School, raised funds for and helped set up flag poles with solar lighting at the Law Enforcement Memorial near the west entrance of Chilton’s courthouse.

Each of the three flagpoles represents a Calumet County police officer who had lost his life protecting their community.

One of these monuments is especially meaningful for Schultz.

His biological father, Lt. Jeff Williams, was killed 16 years ago in the line of duty, robbing Schultz of a chance to truly know the man who brought him into the world.
