Gertrude A. “Gertie” O’Leary, age 84, of 410 Mill St. Reedsville, died early Tuesday morning, July 31, 2012, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Gertie was born March 1, 1928, in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Jacob and Frances (Witczak) Rogala. She attended school in Manitowoc, graduating from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947.  On Sept. 9, 1950, she married Donald O’Leary at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1979. In addition to raising her family, Gertie worked at Tecumseh Products for many years, retiring in 1990. She was a long time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove and was active with the Altar Society of St. Pat’s. Gertie enjoyed shopping & loved to bake; but above all loved the time spent with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandchildren. She is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law Mike and Debbie O’Leary, Bill and Kathie O’Leary, Steve and Jeanne O’Leary, all of Reedsville; Dan and Theresa O’Leary of Wausau, and Tim O’Leary of Reedsville;  two daughters and a son-in-law Mary Sheehy of Reedsville, Kathy and Wayne Nohr, Wayside; 14 grandchildren Ryan O’Leary, Jenny (Seth) Schneider, Jason (Becky) O’Leary, Erica (Shawn) Stelzer, Brenda (Dan) Peterson, Gordy Sheehy and special friend Becky, Tony Sheehy and special friend, Taryn, Jeremy O’Leary, Paula O’Leary, Nick (Tabby) Nohr, Kim (Jason) Kiesow, Kevin Nohr and special friend Hannah, Don O’Leary and special friend Kristen, and Chris O’Leary; great-grandchildren include Brandon and Alanna Stelzer; Liliana, Mariah and Sydney O’Leary; Adamae Nohr; Dominic Kiesow; and soon to arrive, Isaac Kiesow. She is further survived by one sister and brother-in-law Jeanette (Edwin) Oswald, Manitowoc; two brothers Harry “Dewey” Rogala, of Two Rivers, and Stan Rogala of Manitowoc; one sister-in-law, Nedalka “Vicky” O’Leary of Manitowoc; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Donald, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Herman Sheehy; a grandson, Dusty O’Leary; two sisters Antoinette (Melvin) Kautzer, and Eleanore Rogala; a brother, Joe (Jeanette) Rogala; and two sisters-in-law Colletta Rogala and Angie Rogala. Funeral services will be held at 10 30 a.m. on Friday at Holy Family Parish, 1100 W. Ryan St., Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt, with burial to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Maple Grove. Friends may call at Holy Family Parish in Brillion, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, , where a parish wake service will be held at 7 30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church Friday morning after 9 a.m. until 10 15 a.m. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 – 18th St. Two Rivers, ph 920-793-1756 is assisting the O’Leary family with funeral arrangements. The O’Leary family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Holy Family Memorial, 5th floor, especially Nan; the staff of Whitetail Estates; and the staff at the Manitowoc Health Care Center for all the compassionate care that Gertie received. Special thanks also to Fr. Timothy and pastoral assistant, Rita Heraly for their comforting words, prayers and visits.
