Lawrence J. Rector

Lawrence J. Rector, 60, Brillion resident, died Saturday December 15, 2012, at a local hospital after a courageous battle following heart surgery. Rector, LawrenceHe was born April 17, 1952 in Norfolk, VA to Carol Buffington and the late Harry Rector.  Larry attended Marinette Catholic Central High School graduating in 1970.  He married the former Suzanne Klarner on June 1, 1973 at St. Jude Catholic Church.  Larry was employed by the Brillion Iron Works for almost 40 years.  His passion for football led him to a 25 year coaching career for the 7th grade Brillion Chargers.  Larry was extremely proud of his family and treasured his time spent with his grandchildren.   He is survived by his wife Suzie, Brillion and their three children Tanya (Chris) Host, Sobieski; Scott Rector, Brillion and Jill Rector, Green Bay; seven grandchildren Austin, Tyler, Scotlynn, Aubrey, Evan, Cayden and Kamryn; his mother, Carol Buffington, Green Bay; his in-laws Bonnie (Lee) Wertel, Green Bay; Jim Klarner, Fort Myers, FL; Julie Klarner, Green Bay; Todd (Beth) Klarner, Mooresville, NC; Tom (Snip) Klarner, Pittsfield and Lisa (Jeff) Macco, Green Bay; nieces and nephews and a very special aunt and uncle, Bill (Peggy) Buffington, Brillion.   He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerome and Carol Klarner; two nieces, Rebecca Campbell and Dawn Travis.   Per Larry’s request a private family service was held on Wednesday at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home with Suzie’s cousin, Abbot Gary Neville, O’Praem officiating.  On-line condolences may be sent to Larry’s family at   Larry’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Bellin Hospital’s 2nd floor ICU.  Their care and concern will always be remembered.
