Scott Michiels, age 55, of Brillion, passed away unexpectedly at December 23, 2012, at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Scott was born in Milwaukee on March 28, 1957, son of Jerry and Julie (Bredael) Michiels. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, class of 1975. He served our country in the United States Army for four years. Scott ran a successful home building company in Colorado before he moved back to Brillion in 1988. He then owned and operated Michiels Brillion Inn until 2007. Scott also owned and operated the Brillion Car Wash and ran Shakers Bar in Brillion. Scott loved the Packers, hunting, fishing at Lake Tomahawk, and working. He was the President of the Calumet County Tavern League as well as a member of the Brillion Lions, the Brillion Optimist Club, and the Reedsville AmVets. Scott is survived by his wife and mother of his children Connie; their children Evan, Nick, and Kaitlyn; his dog Buster; his parents Jerry and Julie; his siblings Randy (Cindy), Sue (Jim) Breedlove, Tim (Karen), Debbie (Ken) Michiels-Pearson, Cindy (Michael) Newton, Rick, Todd (Kimberly), and Monte (special friend Cari); many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorial Mass will be held at 11 30 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9 30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 30 a.m. Online condolences may be made at The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the Michiels family.
