Evers’ PSC appointee approved by state Senate

Posted at 3:45 p.m. on November 6, 2019 The Brillion News MADISON – One day after it rejected Brad Pfaff as Secretary of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection, the state Senate unanimously approved Governor Tony Evers’ choice of Rebecca Cameron Valcq as a member of the three-person Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW). She has been the PSC chairwoman since March 2. The PSCW is an independent agency that regulates public utilities in the state. The PSC has to approve any utility rate changes, or construction of major power plants or power transmission lines. The state’s Focus on Energy Program and Broadband Expansion Grant Program are both operated within the PSCW.
