Governor to Hilbert: Money headed your way!

HILBERT – Governor Scott Walker announced on Wednesday (August 2) that 38 different communities in Wisconsin will be getting federal Community Development Block Grants for public facilities and planning.

Included in the funding is a $25,000 CDBG Planning Award for the Village of Hilbert to craft a community development plan.

Hilbert had applied for the planning grant as a part of an initiative to take major steps designed to promote growth. It also established a Community Development Committee to focus efforts aimed at residential, commercial and industrial growth.

Most of the other awards announced by the governor’s office were for street improvements and capital projects for municipal utilities in villages and smaller cities a cross the state.
