Maertz seeks Reedsville trustee position

REEDSVILLE – Jennifer Maertz, a Reedsville woman, has joined the list of citizens seeking to fill the village’s two open trustee spots.

The decision to become involved in the community was made easier with the recent news that there was initially a lack of candidates for the board.

“I think it’s always been in the back of my mind,” Maertz said. “For some reason, that article just really spoke to me.”

Maertz took a couple weeks, spoke to current board members about what the position entails and then filed paperwork to be a write-in candidate in the upcoming April election.

The other write-in candidates are Andrew Bubolz, the former village president, and Bobbi Reedy, a citizen of the village for close to a year. Becky Busse is a registered candidate for the position.

One opening is available as Trustee Joe Cummings is not seeking re-election. Another current trustee, Jerry Reis, is running for village president against incumbent Jesse Walt.

Maertz says that she doesn’t have specific things she would like to see be accomplished in the village until she attains a deeper outlook.
