The project is scheduled to begin August 20 and finish in October of this year. State 55 will remain open during construction.
Northeast Asphalt, Inc. of Greenville, Wisconsin is the prime contractor.
The project will improve the condition of the existing roadway, which has severe deterioration with numerous types of cracking in the pavement surface. Work includes:
Milling and overlaying the roadway pavement
Spot curb and gutter replacement at various intersection locations and in Village of Stockbridge
Curb ramp improvements
Adjust beam guard at several locations
New pavement marking
New permanent signing
Centerline rumble strip
Wider paved shoulders and shoulder rumble strips
State 55 will remain open to traffic during construction. Traffic will be maintained using single lane closures, flagging operations and shoulder closures. Parking will not be permitted on 55 in the Village of Stockbridge during paving and curb and gutter operations. Spot sidewalk closures in Stockbridge will also occur when curb ramp work is taking place.
