The Republican presidential ticket of Donald Trump and Michael Pence carried Brown, Calumet and Manitowoc counties in the November 3 general election, according to unofficial final results posted by the three counties’ clerks.
In Brown County, Trump-Pence received 75,865 votes to 65,509 for the Democratic ticket of Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris.
In Calumet County, Trump-Pence out-polled Biden-Harris 18,142 to 12,115.
In Manitowoc County, Trump-Pence had a 27,217 to 16,815 advantage over Biden-Harris.
U.S. Congress
Unofficial results indicate that incumbent Republican Congressmen Glenn Grothman, 6th District, and Mike Gallagher, 8th District, were re-elected to new two-year terms. Grothman beat Democrat Jessica King and Gallagher beat Democrat Amanda Stuck.
State Senate
The only upset in the State Senate in our area was in District 30, where veteran Democrat David Hansen was not seeking re-election. His nephew, De Pere Alderman Jonathan Hansen, was turned back by Republican candidate Eric Wimberger.
State Assembly
There were no upsets in local State Assembly races.
In the Second District, Republican incumbent Shae Sortwell of rural Two Rivers beat Democrat Mark Kiley by a 2-to-1 margin. In the Third District, incumbent Republican Ron Tusler of Harrison turned back Democrat Emily Voight by a 3-2 margin.
In the 25th District, Republican incumbent Paul Tittl of Manitowoc defeated Democrat Kerry Trask by a near 2-to-1 margin.
