TOWN OF MORRISON – Two men were killed on Sunday afternoon, July 8, when a motorcycle ran a stop sign at Park Road and Dickinson Road (County G and County Z) and hit a car.

The crash was reported just before 3:30 p.m.

Brown County Sheriff’s Lt. Christopher Knurr said a motorcycle that had been westbound on Park Road failed to stop for the stop sign and broadsided a southbound vehicle.

The operator of the motorcycle, 38 year old Thomas Hein of Green Bay, and the driver of the car, 58 year old Paul Schumacher of Mt. Pleasant in Racine County, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Hein was riding alone and was not wearing a helmet.  Schumacher was also alone and was wearing his seatbelt. His car was hit in the driver’s side door

Because there were no survivors, the intersection – which is adjacent to Way-Morr County Park and the Morrison Town Hall – was closed while the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit processed the scene.

County Z (Park Road) used to have rumble strips in the pavement warning westbound motorists of the intersection and stop sign ahead. Those rumble strips were later paved over.
