    The Brillion News

WRIGHTSTOWN – The Wrightstown High School girls’ basketball team lost their regional opener 59-54 on Tuesday against Kewaunee.

Kewaunee entered the contest as a No. 5 seed, while the Tigers were a No. 4 seed in the WIAA Division 3 clash.

Free throws were key down the stretch in a close contest, with Kewaunee sinking 11 of their final 12 shots from the charity stripe to help seal the win.

The Tigers appeared to be heavily in control early on, going up 17-5 after one quarter. The tide shifted in the second quarter, as Kewaunee returned the favor by outscoring Wrightstown by a 22-9 spread. From that point on, momentum stayed with the Storm the rest of the way.

With the loss, Wrightstown wraps up its 2014-15 season with a 12-10 overall record, and an 11-7 mark in conference play.

Alisha Murphy scored 15 points for Wrightstown, while Danielle Nennig scored 13.
