Katherine I. Hills

Katherine I. Hills age 74, of 1437 N. 8th St. Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc. Katherine was born on December 14, 1937, in Madison, daughter of the late John and Leota (Perkins) Peters. On November 7, 1959, Katherine was married to Alvin Hills at St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Forestville. She worked at Tecumseh in New Holstein and then the couple farmed in the Town of Cato later moving to Reedsville. Katherine later worked at Schwartz Manufacturing in Two Rivers and Santa’s Best in Manitowoc. The couple has lived in Manitowoc since 1994. She loved fishing, flower gardening and all of her grandchildren. Katherine was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband Alvin Hills, Manitowoc; four children Jackie Hills, Green Bay; Anthony (Melanie) Hills, Reedsville; Kim (Pat) Blashka, Reedsville; Shane (Sarah) Hills, rural Whitelaw; six grandchildren Joshua (Jamie) Winkel, Matthew (Alison) Hills, Naomi (Matthew) Wilson, Shawn Hills, Ryan Blashka and Amanda Blashka; three great grandchildren Rosalynn Hills, Mathias Hills, Nolan Wilson and one great grandchild due in March 2013; one brother and sister-in-law John (Wanda) Peters, Forestville; four sisters and four brothers-in-law Ann (Gary) Pilgrim, East Krok; Sue Warner, Green Bay; Jean (David) Pederson, Luxemburg; Blanche (Gene) Birkham, Madison; Gerald LaGrave, Rankin; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Leota Peters; two brothers and sisters-in-law Andrew (Millie) Kessenich, William (June) Peters; one sister Ingra LaGrave; one brother-in-law Wayne Warner. Funeral services will be held at 11 00 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Stephen Melso and Rev. Robert Kujawski will officiate with burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St. Manitowoc on Wednesday from 4 00 p.m. until 8 00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10 00 a.m. until the time of service at 11 00 a.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com.
