William Detjen, age 84, of Brillion, passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. “Bill” was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 14, 1928, to the late Erich A. and Edna (Borchart) Detjen. He attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 before graduating. He later returned to studies and graduated in 1946, while serving in the Navy. His service to his country spanned 26 years. Upon retirement from the U.S. Navy, Bill began working at the Brillion Iron Works, retiring from there after 29 years. Bill was a life-lone member of Peace United Church of Christ. A brief memorial service will be held at the church on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m., immediately following the Sunday worship service. The Rev. Kris Lyn Borns, Pastor of Peace U.C.C., will officiate. Friends of Bill are encouraged to join in remembering his life among us.
