Lewis E. Rusch, age 82, of W1825 Cty Hwy K Brillion passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 15, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 15, 1929 in the town of Brillion, son of the late Edward & Florence (Herman) Rusch. He married Patricia Kennon on November 20, 1954. Lewis served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Midway. After he returned from service, he farmed with his dad and brother. He later sold appliances in Sheboygan. He then returned to the area and sold insurance until his retirement. He was a member of Christ the Rock Community Church in Menasha, he did volunteer work for Shepherds Care Nursing Home Ministries, the Salvation Army, led bible studies, and did volunteer work for many other organizations. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed making wood with his dog Barney. Survivors include his children Brian Rusch (special friend Judy), Barry Rusch, and Brenda Schmitt, five grandchildren Randy (Alissa) Lapp, Stacy (Nabil) Aramouni, Justin and Adam Schmitt, and Amber Rusch, 5 great grandchildren Jonah, Caleb, and Isaac Lapp, Nina and Sophie Aramouni, a brother Harland Rusch, a sister-in-law Joyce (George) Seburn, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia on September 13, 2010 and a son-in-law Douglas Schmitt. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11 00 a.m. at Christ the Rock Community Church in Menasha. The Rev. Dave VandeHey will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Junction. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lewis’ name. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.
