Germaine Rose Luedtke, age 91, of 303 Truman Street, Whitelaw, was received into the waiting arms of her Savior on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at her home in West Bend where she was cared for by her daughter.
Germaine was born on July 12, 1929 on the farm in Taus, daughter of the late Joseph and Adeline (Wenzlaff) Baroun, Jr. She walked two miles to Grassy Knoll School. Germaine became a child of God through the washing of Holy Baptism on August 12, 1928. She was Confirmed on May 24, 1942 at St. John St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsville. On August 21, 1948 Germaine was joined in marriage to her life partner Merlin R. Luedtke Sr. at St. Johns St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2013. Their union was blessed with four daughters and three sons-in-law. Dianne (Dennis) Hougen, Linda (Dan) Worgull, Lorenda (Rick) Goertz, Lori Ann Gintner. One son and daughter-in-law. Merlin "Butch" (Linda) Luedtke, Jr. Germaine is further survived by ten grandchildren: David (Susan) Luedtke, Michelle (Corey) Stock, Kristeen (Donnie) Jahner, Michael (Lenka) Hougen, Shawn (Bonnie) Luedtke, Melissa (Brad) Ebert, Amber (Brennen) McCloud, Brianna (Tyler) Wagner, Drew Gintner, Caleb Gintner; seventeen great-grandchildren: one great-great-grandchild; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Kenneth (Shirley) Baroun, Marvin (Sue) Baroun, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Adeline Baroun; her husband of 65 years: Merlin R. Luedtke, Sr.; one sister and brother-in-law: Bernice (John) Denor; one nephew: Randy Kiernan; one granddaughter: Kiley Rose Gintner; one nephew-in-law: Ronald Broehm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Johns-St. James Lutheran Church, 219 Manitowoc Street, Reedsville. Rev. Darin Aden will officiate. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will also be live streamed starting at 1:20 p.m. You may view the service on our Facebook page, Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes.
