The following press release was issued on Friday, Jan. 16, about the expansion of Ariens Nordic Center. The site will add a disc golf course and has been selected to host the 2028 U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships.

BRILLION – The Professional Disc Golf Association announced that the Ariens Nordic Center in Brillion, Wisconsin, has been selected as one of the host venues for the prestigious 2028 U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championship. The event is expected to draw approximately 350 competitors and 2,500 spectators, bringing national attention and significant economic impact to Calumet County.

This announcement also marks the exciting news that Ariens Nordic Center will open a new disc golf course, adding another outdoor recreation option to the venue’s offering. This new disc golf course is currently in the preliminary design phase and is scheduled to open in Summer 2026.

“We are thrilled to host the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championship and to introduce disc golf at Ariens Nordic Center,” said Managing Director Monica Ariens at Ariens Nordic Center. “This event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our venue, attract visitors to Calumet County and Manitowoc County, and create a world-class disc golf experience for players and fans alike.”

These championships will be hosted in partnership with the Lakeshore Ladies Disc Golf Corporation, based in Manitowoc, WI.

“The Ariens Nordic Center is an incredible venue that will be adding yet another championship level disc golf course to Northeast Wisconsin” said Lindsey Krause, President and Founder of the Lakeshore Ladies Disc Golf Corporation.

“The scenic setting and commitment to excellence make it the perfect location for hosting this premier event. We can’t wait to see competitors and spectators enjoy everything this venue has to offer.”

The addition of disc golf aligns with Ariens Nordic Center’s mission to provide diverse outdoor recreation opportunities and strengthen community engagement. The new course will complement the center’s existing Nordic skiing, biathlon events, and year-round activities, making it a destination for sports enthusiasts across the Midwest.
