TOWN OF LAWRENCE - A high-speed chase than began in Wrightstown ended in the Town of Lawrence with the arrest of the 23-year old De Pere man.

The incident began on Saturday, September 4, at approximately 2:20 a.m. when a Wrightstown Police officer spotted a vehicle pull into the Greenleaf Bank parking lot at Broadway and Van Dyke Streets in the Village of Wrightstown.

The vehicle remained parked there for several minutes, then pulled out of the parking lot and ran a stop sign.

Wrightstown Police Chief Greg Deike said the officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and, as the officer was approaching the vehicle, it took off at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle fled north on County U at speeds over 100 miles per hour, then left the village and entered a construction zone where County U is closed from County UU to County S.

The fleeing vehicle turned onto County S, the Freedom Road, heading east, and then approached several squad cars with their emergency lights activated.

The vehicle pulled into the Kwik Trip parking lot on County S, just west of I-41, and the driver was taken into custody without any further incident.

The driver, a 23 year old De Pere man, was booked into the Brown County Jail on police charges of Eluding an Officer, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (3rd Offense), and numerous other traffic violations.
