BRILLION – There is at least one person from Wisconsin headed to Minneapolis for Super Bowl week.
Brillion area farmer Amber Horn-Leiterman will be a part of the Land O’Lakes Farm Bowl event in Minneapolis on Thursday, February 1. The event pairs up farmers with past and present NFL players to test farming skills including a tractor tire change, hay bale backup, drone drop, feed run and milk pipe puzzle.
Horn-Leiterman, one of just six farmers nationally to be selected for the event, will be paired up with former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings, according to a press release from Land O’Lakes.
The event takes place at 3M Arena at Mariucci on the University of Minnesota college campus. ESPN reporter Marty Smith will host the event. Actress and recording artist Jordin Sparks will provide sideline commentary.
Other players who have been announced for the competition include hall of fame running back Jerome Bettis, Jason Brown and Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, pending his availability. Two more players will be named later.
Other farmers from around the country selected include one from Maryland, two from Minnesota and two from California.
The event’s mission statement says the event is designed to inspire future generations to consider a career in modern agriculture.
Admission to the event is free. More information is available online at www.TheFarmBowl.com
