Brillion officer sustains minor injuries in crash during pursuit

The Brillion News

BRILLION - One Brillion police officer suffered minor injuries from a squad car crash while in pursuit of another vehicle on Tuesday night.

At about 10:50 p.m., the officer attempted to stop a motor vehicle, who failed to pull over. The officer had his emergency lights and siren activated.

The driver's failure to stop led to a pursuit, which resulted in the squad vehicle being involved in a crash on south Glenview Avenue.

The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to a medical facility by the department’s captain. The officer was treated and subsequently released.

Due to availability, the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department was unable to investigate the crash; the Wisconsin State Patrol responded and is conducting the ongoing investigation.

The squad has been deemed a total loss. The city is working with its insurance provider to facilitate replacement of the vehicle.
