The Brillion News

CHILTON - Brillion expanded on its 37-16 halftime lead and got great scoring balance to beat Kewaunee 75-50 in a WIAA Division 3 boys' sectional semifinal game on Thursday.

Three players led the Lions with 15 points each - Caeden Holly, Grady Geiger and Jeremy Lorenz. Mason Behnke added 12 points and three other Brillion players scored.

Cameron Cullen led the scrappy Storm with 14, but the Lions simply had too many gunners.

Brillion advances to the sectional championship to face Freedom. The Irish beat Eagle River Northland Pines 48-31 in a sectional semifinal moved up a day to March 9 because of the Freedom girls making it to the D3 state tournament.

The Freedom-Brillion game is listed on the WIAA brackets as scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Two Rivers.

Fans should check the brackets (www.wiaawi.org) on Friday and Saturday for any time change because the Freedom girls made it to the D3 title game on Saturday, and will play Waupun.
