TOWN OF LAWRENCE – By eight strokes, the Wrightstown girls’ golf team missed the cut for advancement to the WIAA Division 2 golf sectional it is hosting.
On September 29, at the Little Chute golf regional at the Mid Vallee Golf Course, Wrightstown took fifth place in the nine-team field, where only the top four teams move on to sectional play
However, WHS junior Danielle Bruecker carded a 91 at the regional to advance to sectional play as an individual.
Also advancing as an individual was Denmark senior Mallory Arrowood, with a 97.
The four teams advancing to the Wrightstown-hosted sectional on Tuesday, October 5, at Hilly Haven Golf Course in Greenleaf are The Prairie School of Racine (342), Catholic Memorial (371), Winneconne (379) and Appleton Xavier (393).
Wrightstown finished with a 401: Danielle Bruecker 48-43-91; Sophie Stengel 51-49-100; Esme Moses 51-48-99; and Victoria Watzka 56-55-111.
Watzka is a freshman; the other three are juniors.
Tee time at Hilly Haven on October 5 is 9 a.m.
