CHILTON - The deaths of Matthew Moore, age 54, and Judith Mastrocola, 78, was a case or murder-suicide. Mastrocola was Moore's mother.

The two were found dead in a home in the 100 block of North Madison Street in Chilton on the morning of Wednesday, January 19.

The Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner's Office determined that both died from single gunshot wounds, and that Moore shot and killed his mother, and then shot and killed himself.

The Chilton Police Chief, Craig Plehn, released the conclusions of the investigation in a March 22 press release.

He thanked the state Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, the Calumet County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Fond du Lac Police Department, Calumet County Medical Examiner's Office, Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner's Office, and Calumet County District Attorney's Office for their work with Chilton Police on the investigation.
