The regular season of high school football came to an end with the games played on Friday, October 15.
By 2 a.m. Saturday, the WIAA had filled out the brackets for the championship play in Divisions 1 through 7, and all four of the teams in the coverage area of The Brillion News made it.
On Friday evening, Brillion beat Kohler/Lutheran/Christian 21-18 to take first place in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference.
Hilbert downed Oostburg 42-8 in the Wolves homecoming game, and Reedsville beat Manitowoc Lutheran 49-19.
Wrightstown finished the season at Freedom, losing to the Irish 26-14 in a game largely determined by big plays and turnovers.
Now, the pairings for the Level 1 WIAA games, all for 7 p.m. on Friday, October 22.
Seedings are within each group of eight teams; each division has four groups of eight.
Division 7: #8 Cambria-Friesland (5-4-0) at #1 Hilbert (8-1-0) and #7 Johnson Creek (6-3-0) at #2 Reedsville (8-1-0)
Reedsville and Hilbert are in the same group of eight, and so could meet in a Level 3 game on November 5, with the winner going to the state semifinal game on November 12.
