LITTLE CHUTE - The Freedom Irish girls' basketball team shot the ball well, played strong defense and knocked off Brillion 83-46 in Saturday afternoon's sectional final in front of a crowded gym at Little Chute High School.

The Lions played well early in the game but were unable to slow down the Irish's strong shooting.

Brillion won the Eastern Wisconsin Conference for the second straight season and won a regional championship for the first time since 2012. They made the sectional final after beating Kiel 65-43 on Thursday night in Two Rivers.

The Lions will return their entire starting lineup for a senior season in 2022.
