BRILLION – Nathan Levash says it was a surreal feeling to be selected as the new head coach of the Brillion girls basketball program.
“Wow. It’s been a real goal of mine to be a varsity coach and then to find out the news was kind of surreal to know that it’s finally here,” Levash said.
Levash, 39, was born and raised in Brillion. He graduated from Brillion High School in 2005. He found out late last week he was being hired as the new coach to replace longtime leader Jeff Capelle and was officially approved by the Brillion School Board on Monday night.
Growing up, Levash dabbled in various sports including basketball, wrestling, cross country, track and field, and golf.
Levash is fresh off being a part of the Reedsville boys' state championship run where he was a JV coach and assistant on varsity.
Prochnow said that Levash developed an outstanding rapport with parents, players and coaches during his time in Reedsville.
“(He) did a little bit of everything to help us as an assistant. We’ll miss his presence, for sure, next year. However, I am happy for him to get his opportunity as a varsity girls coach,” Prochnow said.
A complete article on Levash's hiring will appear in the May 21, 2026, print edition of The Brillion News.
