Sheriff Dan Hartwig is releasing the following information in regards to the arrest of Eric J. Fisher for use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.

In mid-February, a Manitowoc Police Department School Resource Officer received information from a juvenile student that she received inappropriate messages on social media from her previous adult “Cheer I Dance“ coach, 29-year-old Eric J. Fisher from Manitowoc, who is employed by Galaxy All-Star Cheerleading from Manitowoc. This business was previously located at 1107 Franklin Street in Manitowoc.

On Wednesday, February 27, 2019, the Manitowoc County Sheriff‘s Office assisted with the investigation and coordinated communication with him through a social media site.  Fisher agreed to meet with a subject that was represented as a local, 15–year-old female for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.

Manitowoc County detectives coordinated efforts with the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Manitowoc Police Department, and Metro Drug Unit personnel to conduct surveillance and arranged a meeting location on S. 9th Street a few blocks south of Lincoln High School. Investigators observed Eric J. Fisher arrive in a vehicle at the meeting location and he was taken into custody for Soliciting Intimate Representation from a Minor, Attempting to Expose a Child to Harmful Material, and Use of a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime.

This investigation is ongoing and investigators are attempting to determine if there are additional victims or witnesses that may have been involved with this activity. Anyone with information related to this investigation can call the Manitowoc County Sheriff‘s Office, Detective Bret Oswald, at 920-683–5011. Additionally, anyone can call Manitowoc County Crime Stoppers at 920-683-4466 and remain anonymous.

Eric Fisher is being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on $50,000 cash bail with an initial appearance scheduled for Monday, March 4, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.

No additional information is being released at this time.
