MISHICOT CHASE: Innocent motorist killed by driver fleeing cops

MANITOWOC – A 25-year old man from Two Rivers was killed on Sunday evening south of Mishicot when his pickup truck was struck by a car going about 100 miles per hour and fleeing from a Manitowoc County sheriff’s deputy.

It happened at State 147 and Crystal Springs Road, in the Town of Two Rivers. The incident began in the Village of Mishicot when the deputy attempted to stop a 2006 Lincoln Town Car on South Main Street for multiple violations. The driver, a 48-year old Two Rivers man, fled south on 147. The chase ended four miles later when the Lincoln collided with a 1995 Mazda pickup truck, whose driver died at the scene.

The suspect was taken to Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay with serious injuries.

No names are being released. The investigation is being handled by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Justice and Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office.

The crash scene was attended by the state patrol, Two River Police, Mishicot Ambulance, City of Two Rivers Fire Department, Two Rivers Ambulance, Town of Two Rivers Fire Department, and the Manitowoc County Highway Department.
