The Brillion News

TOWN OF MORRISON - A special meeting of the Morrison Town Board will be held on Tuesday, September 22, with only one topic: improving wireless and internet service within the township in southeast Brown County.

The meeting will be held at the town hall, at the corner of Dickinson Road and Park Road, at 7:30 p.m.

Town Clerk Colleen Magley said August Neverman, who is in charge of IT for Brown County, will be at the meeting, with several cell tower company representatives.

Neverman appreared before the town board in August and said that if rural communities want to have high-speed broadband internet, they have to be aggressive in pushing to get it.

The notice for the special meeting was posted by Tom Kempen, Morrison Town Chairman.

The Town of Wrightstown, which borders Morrison on the west, is working with Josha Davies and Ideal Technologies, of Wrightstown, to pursue extension of fiber optic cable with internet capabilities to urban areas of the township.
