Motorist dead; medical condition possible

MANITOWOC - The Manitowoc County Coroner's Office is beginning to get answers as it investigates the death of a 26-year old man last Friday.

Coroner Curtis Green said Jeffrey L. Pagel, of Manitowoc, died after a crash where his vehicle ended up in the Manitowoc River. Pagel was alone in the vehicle.

"A pre-existing medical condition may have contributed to this accident," Coroner Green said.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected.

The coroner's office and Manitowoc Police Department are continuing their investigation of the crash. The Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner's Office was conducting an autopsy on Monday, July 27, with complete results expected to take eight to 12 weeks.
