ASKEATON - A Friday night, February 21, car-pedestrian accident near County PP and County Z - a four-way stop rural intersection two miles north of the Brown-Calumet county line - left the pedestrian with severe head trauma.

The pedestrian is Gregg J. Pribyl, age 53, of Green Bay. His current condition is not known.

Brown County Sheriff's Lt. Jason Katers said the crash happened around 10:48 p.m. Deputies determined that the pedestrian, acting as a good Samaritan, was helping out people in a vehicle that went into the ditch in poor winter driving conditions.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle driven by Jordan M. Eickert, 24, of rural Brillion.

Pribyl was helping the motorist when he was struck by Eickert's vehicle at the scene.

Pribyl was airlifted from the scene to a trauma center by ThedaStar EMS helicopter, based in Neenah.

The Brown County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene, along with the Morrison Volunteer Fire Department and County Rescue ambulance.

Lt. Katers did not release the name of the person who Pribyl was attempting to help.
