Obituary: Alice Horn

Alice Horn, age 86, of Brillion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Brillion West Haven.


Alice was born on July 21, 1937 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Fred and Irene (Worm) Renon. She was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1955. On March 8, 1958, Alice married Willis Horn. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1995. Alice started her career as a file clerk at Mirro Foley in Manitowoc. She then joined Willis operating the family dairy farm and raising their children in the Town of Brillion. When she no longer farmed, she worked at Professional Plating Inc. and later Colleen’s Café before retiring. Alice was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, a member of the Women’s Guild, the KP Homemakers Club, and enjoyed playing cards with her many friends.

Alice is survived by her two children and their spouses: Brian (Lori) Horn and Laurie (Dave) Sommers, all of Brillion; grandchildren: Amber (Kevin) Leiterman, Michael (Brittney) Horn, Thomas (Elizabeth) Horn, Samantha (Carl) Schwahn, Alyssa (Mike) Schmelter, and Amanda (Tony) Ott, all of Brillion; great-grandchildren: Grant, Trent, Mason, and Clark Leiterman, Molly Jo and Willis Horn, Emily, Lily, and Daniel Horn, Baleigh, Kennedi, and Parker Schwahn, Ryker and soon-to-be baby Schmelter, and Ainsley Ott; one brother and sister-in-law: Randy (Jackie) Renon of Greenleaf; nephews: Dan (Jodie), Jerry (Paula), and Dave (Amy) Renon; other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willis, her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edgar and Emma Horn, and other relatives.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Peace United Church of Christ. Officiating will be Rev. Diane Droster and Rev. Nancy Zorn Micke.

Friends may call at the Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, August 23, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
