Alice M. Duhm, 90, of Black Creek, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at West Haven in Brillion. Heaven gained a beautiful singing angel as she joined her husband, Vernon.
She was born July 27, 1925, daughter of the late Henry and Anita (Haefs) Krause. On June 5, 1948 she was united in marriage to Vernon Duhm. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2003.
Alice and Vernon farmed together for many years, and she also worked at Rich’s Frozen Foods in Appleton.
Alice is a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Black Creek. She was very active in the church choir and ecumenical choir for many years.
She enjoyed taking long drives with Vernon and traveling with her daughter, Cheryl. Alice was a wonderful cook and made the best apple and lemon meringue pies, and enjoyed her flower gardens.
Alice made it a priority to attend the milestone events of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: James Duhm, Appleton; Karen (Kenneth) Borchardt, Brillion; Cheryl Duhm, Black Creek; son-in-law, Ruben Nooyen, Seymour; grandchildren: Carmen (Chuck) Utecht, Pheonix, AZ; Cara (Mike) Bormann, Byron, MN; Heather (Jeff) Brandt, Greenleaf; Troy (Carly) Nooyen, Pulaski; Bryce (Amy) Nooyen, Roaring Spring, PA; Brianna (fiancé Austin Abendroth) Nooyen, Seymour; great-grandchildren: Zoey, Avery, Taylor, Christopher, Elijah, Zachary, Ryah, Laken, Conner, Trever, and Gemma Rose. She is further survived by her sister: Ardis (Jim) Lyons; brother, Carl (Joyce) Krause; brother-in-law, Roy (Ethel) Duhm.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Karla Nooyen; grandchildren: Carrie Marie and Aaron Scott Borchardt; great-grandchildren: Lily Grace Utecht, Grace Ann and Faith Kay Nooyen; sister, Dolores Peterson; sisters-in-law: Geneva (Jack) Tesch and Victoria (Wilmer) Daelke.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. John United Church of Christ, Black Creek, on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Mark Schwinn officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
