Obituary: Carol (Berg) Sengbusch

Carol (Berg) Sengbusch, age 90, was called home to live with her Lord on Monday, October 10, 2022 at West Haven, Brillion.


She was born on August 23, 1932 in Blaisdell, North Dakota, daughter of the late Isak and Olga (Aubol) Berg. Carol was baptized at Shell Creek Lutheran Church in North Dakota on September 18, 1932. She was just three weeks old when her family moved to Wisconsin. She was confirmed at Valders Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Berntson on May 25, 1947. Carol graduated from Valders High School, Class of 1950. She then graduated from Manitowoc Teachers College in 1952. Carol taught all eight grades in a one room school in Manitowoc County for seven years. On October 3, 1959 she married Myron W. Sengbusch at Valders West Church. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2011. Carol also worked for the Reedsville School System for 33 years.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law: Michael Sengbusch, Brillion, Mark Sengbusch, Reedsville, Robert (Michele) Sengbusch, Brillion; her grandchildren: Leah (Thomas) Melius, Manitowoc, Brandon (special friend Sarah) Sengbusch, Logan Sengbusch, all of Brillion; two brothers: Orrin Berg, Weschesters, OH., Gordon (Marjorie) Berg, Appleton; and one brother-in-law: Rev. Carroll Sengbusch, Hudson, WI. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and four sisters-in-law: Mel (Rosemary) Berg, Norman (Margie) Berg, Eugene (LaVerne) Berg, Stanley (Natalie) Berg, Dennis (Sharon) Berg; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Lorraine (Ted) Damm, Donna (Gerald) Dallmann, Darlene Berg; and sisters-in-law: DeLores Sengbusch and Natalyn Berg.

Funeral Services was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Service was the Rev. Ross Henzi and the Rev. Thomas Fricke with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

The family greeted relatives and friends at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 until 10:45 a.m.
