Obituary: Dorothy Maile

Dorothy Maile, age 81, of Brillion, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, February 20, 2024 at her home after a short battle with cancer.

 




Dorothy was born on June 22, 1942 in rural Hilbert, daughter of the late George and Ruth (Lemke) Behnke. She was a graduate of Hilbert High School with the class of 1960 and also a graduate of a CNA program. Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert. On April 20, 1991 she married Elliot Maile at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert. They are currently members at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church in Brillion. Dorothy enjoyed camping with her husband Elliot, playing cards, going out for breakfast and coffee, visiting with family and friends, cooking and baking, puzzles and word searches. Above all else, she dearly loved her family.

 

Survivors include her husband: Elliot Maile; their children: Steven (Bobbie) Zuelke, Jason (Paula) Zuelke, Sara (Maile) Haese; nine grandchildren: Melodie, Christopher, Matthew, Christian (Daisy), Jessica (Zach), Hannah (Caleb), Micah, Tabitha and Jacob; three great grandchildren: Rowan, Tilly and Dawson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Caroline Behnke, Shirley (Bob) Boll, Mel Maile, Cordy (Bob) Krummel, Dennis (Lee Ann) Maile and Laurie (Kelly) Behnke. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law: Dale Haese; her siblings: Florence (Lloyd) Behnke, Janice (George) Schroeder, Rueben Behnke and an infant brother Joseph Behnke; brothers-in-law: Ronald Maile and Robin Maile; and an infant sister-in-law: Donna Maile.

 

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church in Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Joshua Brandmahl with burial to follow at Brillion Community Cemetery.

 

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m.
