OBITUARY: Dorothy Reinke

Dorothy Reinke, age 84, formerly of Reedsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Mary’s Home for the Aged in Manitowoc.

Dorothy was born in Reedsville on January 7, 1932, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Novak) Kubale.  She was the valedictorian of the Reedsville High School class of 1949 and graduated from Manitowoc County Normal School in 1952.  Dorothy taught for two years in the Town of Kossuth and Town of Hartland.  She began working as a clerk with the Post Office in 1965.  She was promoted to Reedsville Postmaster in 1975 and remained in that position until her retirement in 1992.  On August 7, 1954 Dorothy married Ronald W. Reinke.  He preceded her in death in 1996.  Dorothy was a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS), the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), the Reedsville High School Alumni Association (Honorary Member), Catholic Knights Branch #80 (various officer positions), and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #199.  Dorothy was an active member of the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reedsville, and Holy Family Catholic Parish in Brillion.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Jolee Reinke of De Pere, Edward (Laura) Reinke of  Reedsville, and Susan Uecker-Case (Tom Case) of Green Bay; four grandchildren and  four great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Bernard (Karen) Kubale and Frances Kubale; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.     

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron, and an infant daughter Mary.   Also preceding her in death were brothers and sisters-in-law: Edward, William (Harriette), Lawrence (Dorothy) and Robert Kubale; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kathryn (Willard) Coonen and Barbara (Robert) Meulemans, and son-in-law Andrew Uecker.

Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion.  Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Timothy Coonen.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Reedsville.  

Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of St. Mary’s Home for the Aged and Compassus in appreciation for their compassionate care given to Dorothy.
