Frank “Pa” Duffeck, age 76, of Brillion, passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 10, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Pa was born on September 14, 1939 in Lena, son of the late Slavey and Frances (Konkel) Duffeck. He was a graduate of Lena High School, class of 1957. On April 7, 1959, Frank married Marlyn “Lynn” Fuller at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oconto. Frank worked at Thilmanys Paper Mill in Kaukauna for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Frank and Lynn owned Rocky Top from 1983 until 2004 where Pa was known to say “Let’s shake for one.” Frank was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he also volunteered, was a member of the Brillion Lions Club, the Southern Brown Conservation Club, and Union Local 20. Pa enjoyed playing cards and games with his family, was an avid Brewers, Packers, and Badgers fan, and liked to hunt and fish. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and their sporting events, had a huge heart, and anyone could talk to him.
Pa is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lynn “Ma” Duffeck of Brillion; their children and spouses: Tony (Jill) Duffeck of Askeaton, Theresa (Mike) Borchardt, Lauri (Larry) Bunnell, and Dawn (special friend Jesse Lambert) Duffeck all of Brillion; grandchildren: Owen and Olivia Duffeck, Rachel (special friend Donny) and Amy Bunnell, Kaelin (special friend Chris), Jesse, and Chase Thibodeau; one sister: Delores Schlies of Green Bay; four brothers and four sisters-in-law: Clarence (Joyce) Duffeck of Green Bay, Clifford (Eileen) Duffeck of Lena, Robert (Carol) Duffeck of Lakewood, and Jerome Duffeck of Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law: Ted (Kathy) Fuller and Tim Fuller, all of Oconto, and Ralph Behnke of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister: Jane Behnke, one brother: Donald Duffeck, two brothers –in-law: Al Schlies and Jim Fuller, one sister-in-law: Donna Duffeck, three grandchildren: Jeremy, Charlene, and Christopher, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Floyd “Bud” and Gertrude “Gertie” (Ellmann) Fuller.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, 215 S. Main St. in Brillion on Tuesday night, September 13, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will conclude the visitation that evening. The family will also greet friends at the church on Wednesday morning, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Online condolences may be made.
The family would like to thank St. Paul Home, St. Paul Hospice, especially Sue and Kelly, the St. Elizabeth Cancer Center and the Bellin Family Medical Center in Brillion, especially Dr. Sipple, Jake, and Holly, for all of the care and compassion shown to both Frank and his family.
