Obituary: James M. Calaway

James M. Calaway, age 87, of rural Brillion, passed away on Oct. 4, 2026, at Brillion West Haven following a short illness. Calaway was born January 12, 1939 to Frank and Catherine (Rottier) Calaway.
Jim attended West De Pere High School. In 1959 he joined the Army for three years of which he spent two in Germany. He began working at the Brillion Iron Works in 1962 and retired in 2001. In 1965 he married Dianne Dix. Together they had three sons: Russel (Lea) Calaway, Robert Calaway and Shawn (Nicole) Calaway. Six grandchildren: Max (Mattea) Calaway, Anna (Nathan) Grajeda, Brenna Calaway, Alexa Calaway, Ian Calaway and Nolan Calaway. Two great granddaughters: Mia Grajeda and Parker Calaway.
He is survived by six sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Sally Calaway, Bonnie Calaway, Nancy Calaway, Helen French, Nancy (Barry) Zimmermann, and Linda (John) Baril.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son Robert, his ten siblings: Francis (Mary) Calaway, Robert (Arlene) Calaway, Peter (Grace) Calaway, Patricia (Robert) Goffard, Patrick Calaway, Mark Calaway, Ann (Carl) Vander Linden, Louise (Donald) Miske, Clara Calaway and Paul Calaway.
Funeral Survive will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Wrightstown on October 16 at 4:00 pm with visitation and buffet dinner to follow at Cobblestone Creek on Hwy 10 in Brillion at 5:00. If you cannnot attend the funeral service, please come for the visitation/buffet dinner.
