OBITUARY: James P. “Jim” Krueger

James P. “Jim” Krueger, age 49, of Hilbert died on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.  He was born May 3, 1968, son of Richard Krueger and Sandy (Weber) Rutherford-Steffens.  Jim married the love of his life, Lisa M. Krepline on April 7, 1990 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert.

Jim was raised on his family farm and from little on, he had farming in his blood.  He was grateful every day he could spend tending to his cattle.  He spent many long days working on the farm and never complained.  He may have complained about the milk price, but never complained about the long hours.  In 2007, he built his dream and that’s when Krueger Dairy Farm, LLC, was incorporated.  Jim built his free-stall barn and milking parlor, this gave him the opportunity to grow his herd.  And that he did, he had a gift with cattle and it showed in his herd.   In typical farmer fashion, Jim loved to talk.  He had a gift to gab and that he did.  There was rarely a quiet moment when Jim was around.  He never missed the opportunity to talk about farming, the weather, or sports.  He always had a story to tell.   Jim devoted his entire life to the farm and his family.  Beyond any doubt, Jim adored Lisa and was the biggest fan of his children, always cheering them on at the many and various sporting events they participated in.  He was extremely proud of his children. In April 2011, Jim was diagnosed with brain cancer.  Jim had brain surgery three times and recovered amazingly quickly after each surgery.  His doctors were amazed by him and one of them referred to him as Super Man.  The love of his family and the love of his cattle gave him the courage and strength to overcome. Survivors include his wife: Lisa; his children: Kira Krueger & her fiancé Joe Sabel, Kolton Krueger, Kody Krueger, Karson Krueger; his father: Richard; his mother: Sandy; his siblings: Sue (Stan) Zdanovec, John (Lori) Krueger, Paul (Kerri) Krueger, Kay (Ron) Biese, Mary Jo (Bob) Parkins, Mike Krueger and his special friend, Danielle; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: William & Joyce Krepline; and a sister-in-law: Amy (Dan) Leffler.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Scott Krepline. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church – Rantoul (N6080 West River Road, Hilbert, Wisconsin 54129) with Rev. J. Patrick Niles officiating.  Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2017 and on Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
