Obituary: Kathryn “Kathie” K. Kiekhaefer

Kathryn “Kathie” K. Kiekhaefer, age 75, of Reedsville, passed away on Thursday morning, August 24, 2023 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.



Kathie was born on October 8, 1947, daughter of the late Clarence and Anita (Dallmann) Haelfrisch. She was a graduate of Reedsville High School with the class of 1965. On January 7, 1972 she married Paul Kiekhaefer at St. John – St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Kathie was employed with Fort Howard Paper Company, Leverenz Shoe Company, Dale’s Grocery Store, the Reedsville School District, Wander Springs Golf Course and Parkview Estates. She was an Al’s Alumni committee member and enjoyed gardening and camping. Most of all she loved her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities.


Survivors include her husband: Paul Kiekhaefer; two sons: Cory (Kendra) Kiekhaefer and their children: Bryler, Brenna (special friend Tony Ricci), Brody (fiancée Abby Kocourek), Kelly (Heather) Kiekhaefer and their children: Katlin (special friend Ben Eiles), Kara (special friend Kyle Schmalz), McKenna; siblings: Randy Haelfrisch (special friend Jan Anhalt), Lindy Wolfe, Krizty (Tom) Sebo, Nancy (Mark) Krcma, Mark (Patty) Haelfrisch; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mel (Veryl) Kiekhaefer, Dick Kiekhaefer, Dennis (Jean) Kiekhaefer, Kathy (Roy) Krouse, Christine (Kevin) Vanlaanen. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Verona Kiekhaefer; one brother: Giles Haelfrisch; foster brother: Fritz (Mary Ann) Hoeppner and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Rick Wolfe, Gary Jaeger and Karen Kiekhaefer.


Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at St. John – St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Darin Aden with burial to follow at the church Westside Cemetery.


The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at St. John – James Lutheran Church, Reedsville, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue Monday morning at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
