Obituary: Keith Glenn Fischer

Keith Glenn Fischer, age 64, of Reedsville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the Zablocki Veterans' Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born on December 31, 1961 and baptized at Peace Church in Potter on January 21, 1962. He confirmed his faith on April 11, 1976. Keith graduated from Reedsville High School in 1980 where he excelled on the basketball court and football field. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1985-1989.  Keith worked at various jobs during his lifetime and most recently retired from Dura Fibre in Menasha.

Keith worked hard and played even harder. He continually lived out the words, "Let's get it done!" Keith loved the great outdoors and was a longtime member of the Rockea Hunting Club. He was an accomplished sportsman, having been the only club member to win largest buck with a gun, largest buck with a bow and longest pheasant tail all in the same year. One of Keith's greatest joys was deer hunting in Buffalo County with his "second family," the Ziegeweids. He always looked forward to fishing and used the opportunity to create many wonderful memories on the water with family, friends, and especially his brothers and nephews. When he wasn't hunting or fishing, you could still find him outdoors on the golf course or cutting trees and making wood with his longtime buddy, Kelly.

As a true sports enthusiast, Keith enjoyed watching just about any sporting event, especially if it involved the Brewers, Packers, Bucks or Badgers. He could always tell you a statistic, a player, or some sports trivia that you didn't know you needed. Although Keith enjoyed watching professional sporting events, his favorite teams were much closer to home. He was the biggest fan of his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and he loved cheering them on at their many sporting events and activities. He also never passed up an opportunity to play a game of sheepshead, cribbage, or whiffle ball.

Keith was also known for his unique ability to multitask, especially while driving. He often accomplished several other tasks while somehow managing to keep the vehicle moving in the right direction. It was a talent that provided more than a few memorable moments and laughs for his family and friends.

However, Keith's greatest joy was being an uncle and a great uncle. He treasured his many nieces and nephews and their children. He took great pride in the relationships he shared with them. Whether fishing, hunting, talking sports, playing games, or slipping them some candy, Keith made memories with them that will be cherished for years to come. His unexpected passing leaves a deep hole in the lives of all who knew and loved him. The many stories, laughs, adventures and memories he created will continue to keep his spirit alive in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Survivors include his siblings: Paul (Chris) Fischer, Dan Fischer, Nancy Rosnow, Terry (Mema) Fischer, Dean (Renee) Fischer, Kay (Roger) Sheahan, Sandy (John) Woodcock, Sue (Brian) Heniadis; a sister-in-law: Nancy (Doug) Charles; 20 nieces and nephews; and 19 great nieces and nephews. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Howard & Lorraine Fischer; and a brother-in-law: Jeffrey Rosnow.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Peace Evangelical & Reformed Church (181 Main St.) in Potter with full military honors to follow.  A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until 11:15 am on Saturday, September 12, 2026.  At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available at wietingfuneralhome.com for those wishing to watch a memorial video or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.
