OBITUARY: Lawrence “Larry” Lee Vosters

Lawrence “Larry” Lee Vosters, age 75, of Brillion, died peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2020 surrounded by his family at his residence.




He was born on May 2, 1944 in Little Chute, son of the late Lawrence & Dolores (Siebers) Vosters. On September 24, 1966 he married the former Susan Benzinger at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2019. Larry was employed with Ariens Company, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping and volunteering with Sue. Larry was crafty and very talented with wood working. He enjoyed watching Wisconsin sports and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.


Survivors include his children: James (Kim) Vosters of Milwaukee, Kay (Scott) Schaffer of Hilbert, Patty Vosters of Brillion; his grandchildren: Branden Vosters, Abigail & her fiancé Tom, Drake, Carly, Peyton, Garrett and Grant Schaffer and Cody Vosters-Thurow. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law: Sandy (Jack) Frelich, Barb (Jerry) Wolf, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Arlene Schroeder, Rita (Pat) Finnel, Mary (Jerry) Princl, Vernon Schleis and Donna Benzinger. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law: John & Caroline (Buenzow) Benzinger and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Margaret Schleis, Bob Schroeder, Carol (Bud) Marks, Delores (Cyril) Franz and Earl Benzinger.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Pomeroy with burial at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Brillion. The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, from 8:30 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 until 11:15 a.m.


The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical staff at Ascension Hospital & Hospice, St. Elizabeth Campus, for their compassionate care and all of the sign language interpreters for their care and compassion shown toward Larry.
