OBITUARY: Leona Elnora Jodar

Leona Elnora Jodar, age 91, of Brillion, left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Brillion West Haven. 


Leona was born on August 16, 1925 in the town of Sherman, Sheboygan County, daughter of the late Gustave and Amanda (Schultz) Suemnicht.  On September 28, 1946, she married Roman Jodar at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton.  They were married 53 years before his passing on September 25, 2000.  The couple owned and operated Evergreen Turkey Farm and were also dairy farmers.  After retirement, she volunteered at Bethesda in Neenah and Shepherds Attic in Chilton.  Leona had an amazing cooking ability, enjoyed gardening, flowers, cats, and card playing.  She will be remembered for her love for her family, especially her two youngest great-granddaughters and her new great-great-granddaughter that brought her such joy.  Her days were brightened when they would visit.   

Leona is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Ray Schisel of Brillion; two grandchildren: Kim (Kevin) Stebane of Brillion and their families Paige (Nikolas) Marcks and daughter Josie of Pulaski and Preston Stebane of Brillion, and Kylee(Travis) Rudnick and their children: Deanna, Makayla and Emma Rudnick of Krakow; one sister-in-law: Judy (Don) Baer, many nieces and nephews that called her Aunty Mutsy, and many cousin, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roman, her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Emma (Greve) Jodar, a sister and brother-in-law, Dora (Melvin) Riemer, two brothers, Gilbert and Walter Suemnicht, and a half sister, Evelyn (Tom) Phipps.

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton.  The Rev. Jonathan Christensen will officiate.  Burial will be in Brillion Community Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
