Obituary: Luane (Briske) LaZotte
A soul was called home when a precious mother, darling sister and loving friend to many was freed from her earthly burdens on September 10, 2026.
Luane (Briske) LaZotte was born June 4, 1946 to Louis J. and Eileen M. (Drengler) Briske in Menasha, Wisconsin. She attended St. Mary elementary and high school, graduating in 1964. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and then earned her teaching certificate and Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She served as school librarian in Wrightstown and retired from the Brillion School District.
Luane loved to read, travel and was a master gardener. Her activities were severely curtailed when she was diagnosed with inclusion body myositis and was confined to a wheelchair. While her body was incapacitated, her spirit and personality thrived. She was always ready to pursue a game of Scrabble or Rummikub with her special friend of 18 years Ken Konop. Friends who visited her were always impressed with her sweet and caring presence. No matter how difficult her life was she was always able to bring a smile to your face.
She is survived by her daughter Lauren Ann (Nick) Will and her sister Allyn (Ron) French, as well as wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins on the Drengler and Briske (Britzke) side.
She was preceded in death by her loving son, Steven Anthony Louis LaZotte.
Special thanks to her caretakers at Moments Hospice, Kyra, Jamie and Linda as well as the staff at Parkside Senior Living especially Jessica.
A celebration service will be held at Kessler Fahrenkrug Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah, Wisconsin 54956, with Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod and his wife Jeanne officiating. Friends are welcome to attend the visitation and service on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the service to begin at 11:00 AM. A private interment at St. Margaret Cemetery will occur at a later date.
