Mary C. Schneider (Mary Kay), age 76, a Brillion resident, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was born on December 26, 1945 in Appleton, daughter of the late Benedict and Jeanette (DeBruin) Hoersch. Mary graduated from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. On September 19, 1998, she married Gilbert J. Schneider, and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2010.
Mary was a teacher and crossing guard for many years. Her most recent employer was Badger Highways, as a dump truck driver, retiring after 17 ½ years. Mary continued to help and volunteer to stay active in the community. One of her passions was to volunteer at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Appleton where she was the librarian for over 34 years. Mary loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as traveling.
Survivors include her children: Tammy (Rick) Scovronski-Durofchalk of Mountain Top, PA., Joyce Riesterer of Appleton, Ashley (Bill) Frederickson of Greenville; her grandchildren: Macey, Bailey, Ainsley, Emma, & William; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Paula (Wayne) Micke of Brillion, Jane Fink of Auburndale; and a brother: Jim Hoersch of Hortonville. Other relatives and in-laws also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gilbert, a son-in-law: Scott D. Sheldon; a brother: Jack Hoersch, and two brothers-in-law: Dave Bongers and Clancy Fink.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Pomeroy with burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Oshkosh. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 5:30 p.m. led by Deacon Greg Van Thiel. The visitation will continue Thursday morning at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m.
