Obituary: Mary Jean Jaeger

Mary Jean Jaeger, 96, passed away April 13, 2026, at Intermountain Health Hospice in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

A graduate of Platteville Normal College (now the University of Wisconsin–Platteville), Mary taught kindergarten for 34 years in the Reedsville Public School System but took time off to raise her young children. After retiring, the veteran schoolteacher sold children’s books and counseled unwed pregnant teenagers about their pro-life options.

She was a devoted Christian, active in the church choir, fellowship and service committees, and youth Bible classes. Mary also enjoyed golf, card club, swimming, and time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Al (Rose), Tom (Darlene), Jeff (Deb), Ellie (Kelly), and Jane (Tom); five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winton.

Services: May 2, 11 a.m., Living Stone Lutheran Church, Arvada, CO; and June 27, 11 a.m., St. John St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville, WI. Luncheon will follow each service.
