OBITUARY: Ronald E. Davidson

Ronald E. Davidson, age 84, a town of Brillion (Forest Junction) resident, died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at home in the loving care of his family.


He was born November 29, 1936 to Edwin & Vera (Guyette) Davidson in Appleton. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Ron was a graduate of Appleton West High School, Class of 1954. On September 11, 1963 he married Nancy C. (Ott) at Riverview Lutheran Church, Appleton. Ron started his career in sales at Sears, and later went on to work at various car dealerships, retiring from Bergstrom in 1999. He had the ability and gift to walk up to anyone and start a conversation; as a result he was well known and had lots of friends. In addition to his many years selling he also spent many of his younger years bartending at High Cliff Golf Course where he enjoyed many of his retirement years cutting grass. Ron was a proud member of the Forest Junction Volunteer Fire Department from 1969 to 2005. He contributed in various roles at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church and helped in many different ways including his favorite, which was selling Christmas trees. His hobbies included fixing cars and going to car shows, working in the garage, spending time at the cottage that he built along with his dad, coaching and watching his kids play sports, and then later coaching and watching his grandkids too.

Survivors include his wife Nancy of 58 years; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Ed (Linda) Davidson, Menasha, Dean (special friend Patty Braun) Davidson, Shawano; two daughters and sons-in-law: Renee (Todd) Maeder, Brillion, Carla (Greg) Pederson, Stevens Point; ten grandchildren: Philip, Haley, Caleb, Ethan Davidson, Dillon Davidson, Jacob, Collin, Hannah (fiancé Tyler Mason) Maeder, Danielle (Paul) Segerstrom, Stephanie Pederson; soon to be great grand-daughter (Baby Segerstrom); two sisters and brothers-in-law: Sandy (Glenn) Kasten, Menasha, Lorna (Les) Kasten, Appleton; in-laws: Judith (Ralph) Propson, Hilbert, Norman (Judy) Ott, Waupaca, Sue Ott, Menasha, Kathy Ott, Hilbert, and Mark (Vicki) Ott, Menasha. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law: Bonnie (Ed) Felauer, other relatives and in-laws including his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Roger and Amanda Ott.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church, Brillion. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Mark Krueger with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 and Thursday morning at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church, Brillion, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Theda Care Hospice for the wonderful care extended to Ron. Online condolences may be made. The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Homes of Brillion & Reedsville is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
